This year we are trialling a new way of providing training opportunities to the club members. We will be providing a variety of different training sessions in the form of 6-week blocks.
Block One (15th January-19th February) - Swimming (fitness and technique)
Wednesday Night Swim Sessions from 6 pm - 7 pm (please arrive 15min early to allow yourself time to be ready for a prompt 6 pm start each week). These will start on the 15th of January and run for 6 weeks. The sessions will be coached by Shane Reed and his focus will be on fitness and technique for this 6 week block. Not only will he coach the sessions but he will also provide individual feedback and one on one chats about the athlete's goals for the training block and how they can be achieved. These are for athletes of all abilities and anyone is welcome to sign up!
We need a minimum of 15 people to make the block viable which will mean the use of 2 lanes at the Lido 50m outdoor pool, but if we have more than 20 people a 3rd lane will be hired.
Block Two (26th February - 1st April) - Swim
MTC SWIM SQUAD BLOCK 2 - 26 Feb 2020 – 1 April 2020
Focus on improving breathing techniques.
Focus on body positioning and improving body rotation.
Developing Open water skills and drills.
Focus on developing the perfect catch and learning/improving tumble turns.
Focus on perfecting recovery over the top of the water.
Focus on stroke rate, arm turnover and kicking rate.
The Cost is $60 for the block and this will include your pool entry fee.
